Thelma Davies of Girard College had a terrific high school career that wrapped up last year with eight total outdoor state titles in the 100 and 200 meters.
Then, after her final PIAA State Championship meet, the senior won her first national title. At New Balance Nationals Outdoor, Davies ran her 200 meter PR of 22.95 to claim her first and only national title. That time is also the fastest 200 meter clocking in Pennsylvania state history.
At NBNO, Davies controlled the race throughout and claimed the victory over Whitehaven (TN)'s Kirstin Jones, who ran 23.05.
Davies finished up her freshman season at LSU, where she ran one of the nation's fastest times in the 200 meters. Check out the interview above.
