Individuals Breakdown

Grace Mason proved to be the class of District 10 field in a big way last season in A, as the Wilmington junior rolled to the district crown before taking second at the state meet. Now a senior, Mason will have her sights set on another district title, but even more than that, a state title. Mason's got the talent in a fairly open Class A state field this season. But there's no denying she's the one to beat in D10-A.

West Middlesex freshman Lia Bartholomew enjoyed strong season that saw her take second to Mason at districts and then take sixth at the state meet. The same goes for Hannah Wagner of Reynolds, who placed third at districts and then take 11th at Hershey. Both are expected to be right near the front of both the district and the state this season.

Mercer Area's Willow Myers and Cambridge Springs' Elizabeth Kline also return from the top five of the district last season. Kline earned a state medal, taking 20th at Hershey, while Myers -- a frosh last year -- was 30th.

Saegertown's Paige Fuller and Wilmington's Emma Mason should also make some noise in this loaded district. There is plenty of firepower on the state scene coming out of District 10 Class A this season.

Team Preview

It was a banner season in 2019 for the Wilmington squad and 2020 could be even better for this team. The entire varsity team returns this fall from last year's team that won the district title and went on to place fourth at the state meet.

For Wilmington, Grace Mason could very well score a single point at the state meet and they have solid depth with Emma Mason, Becka Book, and Samantha Gioan. This team will be the big favorites to repeat in D10-A as champions and could make a run at the state title, as well this fall.

It will be a fierce battle for the other state qualifying spot in D10-A. Lakeview earned the second spot last season. They lose their top girls from last year, but do bring back five varsity runners from last year's squad. If those returners can move up in the field, they will have a shot at a return trip to states.

North East will be a factor. They took third last season in the district last season and bring back their top five from last season. NE had a 1-5 gap of under a minute and should be a force and make a run for Hershey.

Reynolds has a solid squad, led by Wagner up front, and should have a good shot at getting in the mix. Saegertown and Sharpsville Area will also be on the hunt for a high finish this fall.
