Unionville's Ethan McIntyre claimed the win in his first race of the season. The senior went 10:29, opening up his racing schedule with a victory.
It's been a season of uncertainty -- particularly in the Ches-Mont -- but four teams (Unionville, West Chester Henderson, Kennett, and Downingtown West) got together on Saturday morning for the Deuce at Singer Farm. McIntyre, the state's top returner based on state meet results from last year, took home the win on a tough Singer Farm 2 mile loop.
It will be a busy October for McIntyre, who will race at the Ches-Mont Championships in a week and a half, which will be followed by the PIAA District 1 Championships.
McIntyre's teammate Sam Elsen was second, not far behind, running 10:32. Kennett's Gavin Maxwell was third in 10:38 and Downingtown West's Henry Debuque was fourth in 10:41.
In the girls' race, Unionville's Shannon Garvey completed the U'Ville sweep, running 13:14 for the win. Downingtown West's Taylor Rochon was second in 13:19.
