State College Area's Brady Bigger set the tone in the first AAA boys race of the day at the state meet, earlier this month. His time -- 16:07 -- held up through in the next three races and the senior was crowned state champion.
Bigger held off a good challenge from Downingtown West's Aiden Barnhill, who was second in the first heat and wound up taking fourth overall in a time of 16:19.
As a junior last year, Bigger placed 20th in the state, but he had a terrific 2020 XC season even despite the ongoing pandemic. He ran to wins at the Mid-Penn Conference Championships and then the District 6 Championships before his state championship win.
