PTFCA Announces Plans For Carnival

The PTFCA Indoor Track Carnival is still set to go off this winter, but it will come with a few changes. The meet will be held on Saturday, February, 13. Instead of its usual location at Lehigh University, the meet has been moved to Glen Mills' six-lane track in Delaware County.

There will be limited entries and strict mask requirements for all athletes, including for when they are competing. There will be no spectators admitted.

Here's the meet information, provided by the PTFCA below.

The Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association proudly announces its 31st annual Indoor Track Carnival. This event will be held at Glen Mills 200 meter, 6 lane oval with 6 lanes on the straight and promises to be a spectacular event for all levels of competition.  This year's meet will be run at metric distances except for the field events and the Mile run.

This year we will limit the number of competitors in each event to shorten the length of the meet.  We will accept the top 18 entrants in the 55m dash, 55m hurdles, 200, 400, 800, mile.  The 3000 meter run will be limited to the top 15 entrants.   Field events will be limited to the top 15 entrants.   Each team will be allowed only one competitor per event.  Competitors will be allowed to compete in four events.  Seeding will be by committee whose decision is final.  No substitution of competitors will be allowed.  Also, no food, or drinks will be allowed as per Glen Mills's instructions.

Entry Fee: $10 per individual per event.  Acceptances will be posted on the PTFCA website on Monday, February 8, following a seeding meeting.   Entry fees will be paid at the meet for those accepted.

Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top five competitors in each event.  No team score will be kept.

Equipment: No spikes or shoes that accept spikes will be permitted.  Blocks, provided by Glen Mills, can be used in the 55m hurdles and dash, no other events. Entrants in the shot put MUST bring their own indoor shot.

Timing/uniforms: FinishLynx fully automatic timing.  Each competitor must wear their official school uniform.  The decision of the meet referee concerning uniforms will be final.  PIAA, PTFCA, and National Federation rules will be in effect.

Important: Each team will be required to provide one person to help officiate the meet.  You MUST email Ron Lopresti (ronlop@msn.com) with your officiating request by February 7 or you will be assigned a job based on need.  All teams must clean-up their area before leaving. EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES INCLUDING WHILE THEY ARE COMPETING.
