Allen Taylor improved on his own PA No. 1 in the 60 meter hurdles at Saturday's meet at Youngstown State University. The Williamsport Area senior journeyed out to Ohio for a second straight week, and for a second straight week, he ran a new state-leading time.
Taylor went 8.01 to take second to Zamen Siyoum of Ohio. Siyoum entered the weekend already at US No. 3, and while he didn't better his season best of 7.87, he did edge out Taylor for the win in 7.98. Taylor's time, meanwhile, puts him inside the nation's top ten with a US No. 10 clocking.
Taylor battled well with Ohio's top hurdler, but Siyoum got the advantage over the last few hurdles and claimed the win.

It's still a strong improvement for Taylor. A week prior, Taylor won at YSU in 8.12. So this time around, he was able to lop off over a tenth of a second on his season best. It's also a new PR for the senior Taylor, who ran 8.03 last winter as a junior.
Taylor's indoor season isn't finished. He's entered in the Championship section of the 60-meter hurdles at this coming weekend's Adidas Indoor Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va. Ranked tenth in the country, Taylor will certainly be one to watch down south.
