PIAA States Preview: Boys' Sprints & Hurdles

AA Boys 100m Preview

It's been quite the breakthrough spring for Braeden Wisloski of Southern Columbia. The sophomore wasted no time making his presence felt on the PA sprint scene. He's been undefeated this season in 100m finals and he will look to continue that trend on Friday as the big favorite in the AA 100 meters.

Wisloski enters the weekend with a season best of 10.74. He went 10.88 to win District 4 and will be the top seed on Friday.

Three others in the field have broken 11 seconds this spring. Rochester's Rashawn Reid went 10.85 earlier in the season. Nigel Rossman of Deer Lakes has a 10.95 to his name this season, and Scranton Prep's London Montgomery clocked a 10.99 in the prelims at District 2. All three will hope to dip back under 11 and give Wisloski a run for the win.

A number of other boys are right on the cusp of breaking 11 seconds. Marian Catholic's Michael Fellin went 11.00 to win the District 11 crown and Brookville's Jack Krug ran 11.01 to win at District 9. Cristian Buckley of Dunmore ran 11.05 to win the District 2 title over Montgomery. Those three will have 11 seconds on the mind on Friday and should be factors for a high finish.

Others to watch for in the AA 100m include Marcel Jackson of West Catholic, Ethan Black of Conemaugh Township, and Gavin Garcia of Southern Columbia.
