2021 PIAA XC State Qualifying Breakdown By District & Class

2020 was supposed to be the first of a two year cycle of the PIAA's updated state meet qualifying breakdown. The pandemic forced the PIAA to change its qualifying standards for the state meet, severely limiting the number of team and individual qualifiers.

But the PIAA expects to return to normal for the state meet in 2021, which means it will use the qualifying format it was supposed to use in 2020 prior to the pandemic limiting the amount of entries. This is the second year of a two year cycle of this qualifying breakdown, which lays out how many team and individual and team qualifiers each PIAA district gets into the state meet.

We have laid out the qualifiers for this season, with the number of teams (teams must qualify for the state meet via their district championship meet) and the number of non-team individuals (the next best runners not on a team that qualified for the state meet) that can qualify for the state meet out of each district and classification.
