Individuals Breakdown

Emma McNamee won the District 12 AAA individual title last year as her St. Hubert's team was the only team able to compete in championship meet in 2020. It will be much more competitive this fall, with the Public League teams of AAA entering back in the fray.

McNamee will still be a factor near the front. The one to beat, however, could be Central's Hannah Powell, who captured the Public League crown in the spring. Powell, a senior now, was impressive last year as a junior and won the Public League in XC by nearly 20 seconds. She will certainly make a run at the district title this fall.

Others to keep an eye on include Central's Sabreeya Travis and Northeast's Mia Sideris.

Team Preview

Central will be aiming to take back to District 12 AAA title this season. The Public League champions from this fall will need to add some depth, but the building blocks are in place led by Powell and complemented by a strong 2-3 in Travis and Sideris. Central won the 2019 district title, but was not able to compete last fall due to the pandemic. This will be a hungry team ready to reclaim the district and with it, the lone state spot.

St. Hubert's, the 2020 champions, will look to retool to make a run at the high finish in the district in 2021.
