Sanaa Hebron closed out what has been a very busy indoor season with a national championship in the 400 meters. The Neshaminy went 54.37 to win the Championship 400m at adidas Track Nationals in Virginia Beach.
It's a PR -- indoors or outdoors -- for Hebron, who got out hard and won the race to the break, and held on from there, taking the victory by a rather sizeable margin. Lauren Tolbert was second in 55.00.
Hebron, who won the state title in the 400m at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships at the end of February, has been on a hot streak the last two weeks. She went 54.79 to take third at Nike Indoor Nationals last week at Ocean Breeze. Then she followed that up with a PR and a strong showing at VA Beach for adidas.
Hebron is the reigning PIAA Class AAA 400m state champion, and she enters the outdoor season in a terrific spot. Of course, she'll be one to watch.
