Hey all,
My name is John Davern and I am taking the helm as the new state Editor for PennTrackXC (MileSplit Pennsylvania). I am beyond excited to give back to the Pennsylvania community that has given so much to me.
I grew up in NJ and ran for Manchester Township (2017 B-South Champs). I then went on to compete at Lock Haven University while studying Sport Administration. I enjoyed a moderately successful career as a distance runner and even helped set a few school/facility records in my time. But like all good things, my collegiate career came to an end. Fortunately, I have moved on to cover Pennsylvania for MileSplit.
I have already started conversations with folks around the state, and in the coming weeks I will continue reaching out to coaches, timers and meet directors to introduce myself. Pennsylvania has an incredible network of people passionate about the sport, and dialogue will help me keep PennTrackXC as the go-to source for everything Pennsylvania running.
As the cross country season quickly approaches, I look forward to meeting you all on the course. Together we will grow the sport and give Pennsylvania the spotlight it deserves.
