Watch Quarzo run to the 2A State Title Above

Early in the Cross Country Season, Quarzo committed to NC State University, alleviating a lot of the traditional stress that senior student-athletes experience. With a significant stressor checked off, she could focus on her role as a student-athlete and excel in all facets. She currently maintains a 3.96 weighted GPA in the classroom.

She was spectacular this past season. If she was entered in a race - she was the favorite. She displayed her prowess with her ability to dictate races from the front and control the outcome almost every time she toed the line. She is well-deserving of this honor.

Gatorade selects and awards each state's top girl and boy in each sport with their Player of the Year Award. Each state winner is automatically nominated for consideration for the National Player of the Year Award.
