New State All-Weather Record in the 100m

Watch: Ethan Black being interviewed after his victory in the AA 100m at the state championship last year.

Ethan Black (Conemaugh Township Area) just threw down a new "all-weather" record in the 100m with an electric 10.22. The new fastest time in state history and the new state lead was timed utilizing FAT timing, although there was no wind reading recorded.

That performance is good for a US #5 when you rank it among all races from the season.

Black is no stranger to speed. Last year, he was the AA state champion in the 100m dash with his winning time of 10.78. He also won the 100m at the PIAA District V championships in 10.63. That time was also the second fastest amongst returning athletes for this year's spring season.

The senior also dropped a new state lead in the 200m with 21.18. He was last year's AA champion in the event after running 21.45. At the District V championships, he was the winner in 21.56.

The sky's the limit for Ethan Black and he's looking strong in his title defense.
