Thirteen seconds and counting. Niera Rodgers of Little Flower has shaved a monstrous 13.6 seconds off of her previous best of 1:17.92. She heads this list of year-over-year improvers in the Girls 400m.
As a result of her hard-work, Rodgers currently ranks 18th in District 12 3A. Back in 2022, she ranked 77th. The sophomore still has over two years to continue her progress, and she could make an impact at the state level in years to come.
Keturah Darwon, ranked 12th on this list, is the first girl ranked with a time under 60 seconds. Improving by 7.1 seconds year-over-year - her strides have come at an opportune time for the Rustin Golden Knights. Rustin is coming off of an Indoor State Championship season, and it has high hopes for the outdoor championship campaign.
Darwon currently ranks 22nd in PIAA 3A 400m, and sixth in the 300mH.
In total - 75 girls have shaved more than three seconds off their time, year-over-year.
