Logan St. John Kletter (Mount Lebanon) commits to the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill one day after running a new mile
PR.
Kletter announced her verbal commitment to UNC via Instagram early morning on Sunday the 4th, just one day after she ran 4:44.15 in the mile at Night at the Island and one week after winning the 3A 3200 state title in a record-breaking time of 10:12.86. The news of Kletter's commitment to a school of UNC's caliber comes as no surprise, with the junior's stock being so high. She's on fire right now.

Kletter ran an impressive mile at Saturday's Night at the Island event to finish 2nd. She came through the first 800 meters of the race in 2:22.96, running on the shoulder of Oklahoma State's Maddie Salek.
When Salek began to pull away from the field, Kletter went with her keeping the college senior in sight for the second half of the race.
Kletter split a 70-second last lap to clock 4:44.15. Her time Saturday was over five seconds faster than her previous PR of 4:50.77 from the Penn Relays.
This is an elite postseason performance for the junior, ranking her PA No.1 and in the USA Top 15. We'll see Kletter compete again this season at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in two weeks.
