Boys' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Boys - 11:30 AM

Qualifying - 1 Team and 5 Individuals

Individuals: In 2022 Kendel Jones (Elk Lake) won the District Championship as a freshman. He ran 15:59 earlier this year. He'll have pressure from Brayden Clarke (Lackawanna Trail) who has run as fast as 16:03 this year. Other include Nate Sinkovich, and Jack Novelli.

Teams: Elk Lake (Reigning District Champs), Holy Cross, Montrose. Elk Lake finished sixth at the PIAA Foundation Invitational and as the top D2 1A team.

2A Boys - 9:30 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Daniel Danilovitz (Riverside) finished second at last years championship and has a slew of strong finishes this year, including a second place finish at the Paul Short Run. Aiden Janowicz (Wallenpaupack) finished 12th in that same Paul Short Run race. He has run as fast as 16:06 this year. Others to watch include Ethan Williams and Bryce Phillips

Teams: Scranton Prepatory, Wallenpaupack, Dallas, Crestwood (2022 Runner-ups). 

3A Boys - 1:30 PM

Qualifying - 1 Team and 5 Individuals

Individuals: Brian McCormack (Scranton) won the 2022 District title and is the heavy favorite this year. He ran 15:31 to place third at the Paul Short Run earlier this year. Others to watch include Aidan Graff and Michael Donlon.

Teams: Scranton (2022 Runner-ups), Abington Heights (2022 Champions), Delaware Valley

Girls' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Girls - 12:30 PM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Carissa Flynn (Mountain View) has run 19:17 this year, she finished fourth at last year's championship. Kate Korty (Forest City) is the defending champion, her season best is 20:59. Emily Black (Lakeland) finished runner-up to Korty in 2022. Others to watch for include Mary Pichette.

Teams: Montrose (2022 Champions), Lakeland (2022 Runner-Ups), Mountain View

2A Girls - 10:30 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Madison Hedglin (Dallas) finished third at last year's championship. She won the Paul Short Brown race in a personal best 18:26 earlier this season. Brenna Dahlgren (Honesdale) ran 19:07 this year and posted wins at PTXC 14, the Abington Heights Cluster and Honesdale Cluster. Others to watch include Riley Mackrell.

Teams: PA #20 Dallas won the Paul Short White Race earlier this year with a 20:15 average. Crestwood was the 2022 Champion and returned a bulk of their line-up. Valley View is also in contention.

3A Girls - 2:30 PM

Qualifying - 1 Team and 5 Individuals

Individuals: Ryan O'Connor (Delaware Valley) ran 18:01 on her home course on September 19th, She was fifth at last year's championship. Anna Pucilowski (Abington Heights) is the defending champion. She has run 19:07 this year. Others to watch include Reese Morgan.
