Boys' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Boys - 11:00 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: The Jenkintown contingent of John Byler and Denis Tulin could run away with it, but Martin O'Rourke (Regina Luminis) may try to play spoiler. Watch for those three out front.

Teams: Regina Luminis (2022 Runner-ups), Jenkintown (2022 Champions), Delaware County Christian, Bristol, Faith Christian Academy

2A Boys - 11:30 AM

Qualifying - 1 Team and 5 Individuals

Individuals: Steven Todd has been phenomenal this year. He won the Carlisle Invitational (Champion race) and ran 15:52 to place fifth at the Ches-Mont XC Championships. Also watch Papakojo Danquah (Holy Ghost Prep), who finished third last year, Brendan Dienna (Holy Ghost Prep), and Vincent Frankina (Lower Moreland).

Teams: Holy Ghost Prep (2022 Champions), Lower Moreland, Bishop Shanahan (2022 Runner-ups), and Upper Perkiomen.

3A Boys - 12:00 PM

Qualifying - 6 Teams and 30 Individuals

Individuals: Richard Planck (Downingtown West) was lights out at the Ches-Mont Championship, winning in 15:19 over Nick Steinfeldt (Downingtown East). Steinfeldt is right there with him. Nicholas Mazzeo, Alexander Mazzeo, Brady Ott, Aidan Maue, Ian Johnson, Rowan Carr, and Luke Bodden are all threats. It is a stacked field and there are a number of athletes who can steal the show.

Teams: PA #8 Lower Merion, PA #9 Council Rock North, PA #10 Penncrest, PA #13 Conestoga, PA #14 North Penn (Defending Champs), PA #16 Souderton, PA #17 Unionville, Downingtown East, Council Rock South, Downingtown West. A slew of ranked and unranked teams will be competing for six qualifying slots. 

Girls' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Girls - 9:30 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Elaina Rainwater (Phil-Mont) was last year's runner-up. She'll look to add her first District title. Also watch for Gianna Scoville (Regina Luminis), and Lucia Volpe (Regina Luminis)

Teams: Regina Luminis, Bristol, Sacred Heart, Calvary Christian

2A Girls - 10:00 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Amelia Ogawa (Lower Moreland) is the defending district champion and runaway favorite entering Friday's race. She should control the race from the front. Also watch for Meghan Willis (Bishop Shanahan), Annie Moniz (Lower Moreland), and Kennedy Durand (Lower Moreland).

3A Girls - 10:30 AM

Qualifying - 6 Team and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Olivia Cieslak (Hatboro Horsham) and Ella Woehlcke (Mount Saint Joseph) will go toe-to-toe again in 2023. The two dueled in 2022, with Woehlcke coming out in front. They won't be alone however. Riley Rooney (Central Bucks South), Sienna Miller (Perkiomen Valley), Jane Kratz (OJR) and Lillian DiCola (Hatboro Horsham) have all been running great.

Teams: PA #4 Owen J Roberts (2022 Champs), PA #7 Haverford, PA #8 Phoenixville, PA #9 Conestoga, PA #11 Mount Saint Joseph, Central Bucks West, Pennridge, Strath Haven and Perkiomen Valley are all in the qualification battle.
