Thelma Davies | Louisiana State University

Women's 200m

Thelma Davies graduated from Girard College HS in 2019. At the time of her HS graduation, Davies was considered the best sprinter in Pennsylvania History. She still holds state records in the indoor 55m (6.77), the indoor 200m (23.51), the outdoor 100m (11.25) and the outdoor 200m (23.10).

She'll be representing Louisiana State University in the women's 200m with a seed time of 22.96 from the SEC Indoor Championships.

Melissa Riggins | Georgetown

Women's Mile and 3000m

Melissa Riggins was a standout at Shady Side Academy until her graduation in 2021. She was a six-time PIAA Outdoor state champion in the 800m and 1600m, with High School bests of 2:08.86 and 4:45.69.

Riggins is now a six-time Big East Champion but will be looking to earn All-American honors for her first time as an individual. She will represent Georgetown University in the women's mile and 3000m this weekend. She has personal bests of 4:30.73 and 8:52.82 in those two events.

Kileigh Kane | Penn State

Women's Mile

Kileigh Kane was a strong miler for State College HS ('19) but she has really found her stride at Penn State University. Kane never won a state title and actually started her high school career as a long and triple jumper. But this weekend she'll be representing Penn State in the women's mile at the NCAA National Championship.

Kane had a breakthrough performance at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational this year. She ran a personal best 4:32.97 mile. Then she finished second at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in the event.

Chloe Timberg | Rutgers

Women's Pole Vault

Chloe Timberg (Central Bucks West 21') was the Indoor and Outdoor State Record Holder in the Pole Vault until Veronica Vacca broke her indoor record this year.

Timberg's stellar career has continued at Rutgers and she has competed at Nationals a number of times. At last year's Indoor National Championship, Timberg narrowly missed the podium and finished ninth. She just jumped 14-11 (4.55m) to win the Big Ten Championship and she is primed for a big outing at NCAA's.

Sydney Horn | High Point

Women's Pole Vault

A three-time Pennsylvania State Champion, Sydney Horn enjoyed an impressive career while competing for Manheim Township ('20).

At the college level, Horn has been incredible. In her freshman year she finished fifth at NCAA's Indoor (14-5.5), and sixth at NCAA's outdoor (14-1.25). She was then second (14-7.5) at the indoor championship in 2022 before she earned All-American status in the next two outdoor seasons. Coming off a Big South Indoor Championship Title (14-9.5), she'll be up against Chloe Timberg for gold.

Shawn Brown | Texas Tech

Men's 60m

Shawn Brown won a PTFCA Indoor State title while competing for Central Dauphin East in 2020. He also earned a PIAA Outdoor State Title in the 100m as he ran 10.89.

Brown went to Butler Community College and transferred to Texas Tech this year. Now Brown is ranked ninth in NCAA Division I and he has a chance to claim All-American honors in his first Division I season. He has run a 6.53 60m (altitude).

Carter Fitzgerald | Penn State

Men's 800m

Fitzgerald was a middle distance standout at Central Bucks West ('22). He finished runner-up to Gary Martin in the 2022 PIAA 3A 800m Championship and ran a 1:51.97.

At Penn State Fitzgerald has shaved over four seconds off of his high school best. He ran 1:47.25 at the Penn State Tune-Up on February 16th and will be making his first NCAA appearance.

Gary Martin | U of Virginia

Men's Mile

Gary Martin (Archbishop Wood '22) became the first Pennsylvania High Schooler to break four minutes in the mile in 2022, a feat which has not yet been repeated. The mile specialist has continued to hit his stride at the University of Virginia and he is currently ranked 18th in Division I with his 3:54.73.

He is less than a second off of the Pennsylvania Native All-Time Mile Mark of 3:53.93 run by Casey Comber (Hatboro Horsham '15).

Thomas Kitchell | Wake Forest

Men's Shot Put

Thomas Kitchell graduated from Notre Dame Green Pond in 2020. He had a stellar career as a Crusader and won the 2019 PIAA 3A Discus title in 2019. He had a personal best of 185-5 in the discus and posted a career best of 60-5.5 in the shot.

Kitchell has will be competing in his first national championship. He is undefeated in the shot circle this year and most recently won the ACC Championship with a throw of 63-4.75 (19.32m). He is ranked 15th in the NCAA.

Lydia Bottelier | Pittsburgh

Women's Pentathlon

Lydia Bottelier (Palisades) finished her high school career as one of the best high jumpers in Pennsylvania History. She still stands at PA No. 5 All-Time Indoors (5-10) and PA No. 3 All-Time Outdoors (5-11.5).

Bottelier enters the NCAA Championship with a seed score of 4150. That ranks her at the NCAA No. 12 spot. She was fourth at the ACC Championship.

Brianna Smith | Duke

Women's Pentathlon

Brianna Smith (Cheltenham) was a talented multi-athlete when she was competing for Cheltenham ('20). She won an indoor state title in the high jump (2020) and finished second at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in the heptathlon.

Smith has continued her excellence at the next level and will be competing in her first national championship this weekend. Her score of 4132 in the pentathlon led her to a third place finish at the ACC Championship.
