At New Balance Nationals Indoor, Shaun McCoullum (George Washington) tied the 200m Indoor State Record. At the time he was surprised but still he called his shot.

He wanted to break the outdoor state record. Perhaps he meant the 100m dash.

On May 9th, Shaun McCoullum ran the second fastest 100m (all-conditions) in Pennsylvania history, with a FAT 10.24 at the Philadelphia Public League Championships.

That time is currently ranked at the US No. 10 spot.

As mentioned, the mark was recorded utilizing FAT timing, though no wind reading was measured. Last year Ethan Black ran the fastest All-Weather time in PA History, a 10.22. Deworski Odom (Overbrook) technically still holds the state record at a 10.26 from the 1994 World Junior Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.

In the same weekend, Shaun McCoullum also ran a 21.02 200m and finished second to Jayden Horton-Mims (Imhotep) by three hundredths of a second. Those were the fourth and sixth fastest times in Pennsylvania History (All-Conditions).

What's next?

Shaun McCoullum will race at the PIAA District 12 Championship this week. There will be a wind gauge at this week's meet and history could be made in the 100m and 200m.
