The first District 12 Championship was a Central affair. The Philly Public League's top team took care of business, qualifying both boys and girls teams for their first-ever PIAA championships. The Central boys placed six in the top eight for just 18 points behind Patrick Carr's 17:11. The Central girls had a bit more competition, but their 37 points were 25 better than Engineering & Science. E&S was led by LaVaughn Jones, who finished first in 20:19. Central's Tya Carodine took 2nd seven seconds back. Congrats and welcome to the PIAA District 12. You'll get to see the Central girls as the AAA representative, and E&S as the AA. The Central boys will also be going as the AAA rep, while the Masterman boys are the AA qualifier, as will the top five individuals not with a qualifying team.
