Caitlin Hewitt did all she could to help her team win the Westmoreland County Coaches meet, but she was facing Valley\'s Mycaiah Clemons in two events that aren\'t her usual fare. She would take 2nd in the 100 and 200 to Clemons, and Latrobe would get second to Norwin, which got points from virtually everywhere to win by 16.5 points. But Hewitt did take her specialties, winning the Pole Vault at 12-00 and the Long Jump with her 17-07.25 leap. In addition to the two sprints without hurdles, Clemons also took her speciality, the 100 High Hurdles in 14.5 seconds. And Latrobe\'s Elizabeth Brickley also took two events, winning the 1600 in 5:11.2 and the 3200 in 11:30.5. Norwin took one-two in the 400 behind Megan Duncan (58.6) and Noell Lyons (1:00.6), along with relay wins in the 4x400 (4:06.9) and 4x800 (9:58.8). Greensburg Central Catholic\'s Emma Guinipero gave the Discus quite a ride, 139-03.
The hometown boys from Latrobe stopped Kiski\'s two-year run of team titles. Jay Obstarczyk contributed to 38 points for the team, taking the 100 in 11.0, the 200 in 23.0, taking a turn with baton on the winning 4x100 (43.9), and getting 2nd in the 400 in 51.8. Greensburg Central Catholic\'s Alex Krupey won in 51.4. There\'s another Clemons in the Valley, and this one, Toney, also wins. He ran 15.2 to take the 110 Hurdles, helped his 4x100 to a 44.5 2nd to Norwin, captured the Long Jump at 21-05.25, and ran a leg of the 8th place 4x400. Norwin\'s Dave Craven contributed 10 points to the effort with a 14-00 1st place Pole Vault.
