In the first PIAA District meet for what is essentially the Philadelphia Public League championship, the stars - both well known, or soon-to-be-know - came out with a glimpse of what is to come next week at Shippensburg. Engineering & Science (you can call them Carver, their real first name, or E&S for short), won both AA team titles... by just 12 over the Masterman girls. The Central boys team won the first-ever AAA title. E&S had the top three times in the girls 800 behind Benita Taylor\'s 2:15.08. Teammate Kameesha Worthington posted a 57.28 400. The girls pulled off a 3:57.37 4x400, and for good measure, went 9:37.68 in the 4x800. And some very rapid hurdling was presented by Masterman\'s Dara Wilson, running 14.79 and 45.70 for the 100 and 300 varieties.
As expected, the top-end speed came from the Siimon Gratz guys. Raishine Turner edged teammate Kenneth Talley by just two-tenths of a second, with his 10.96 100. Turner was five-tenths better than Kenneth in the 200, running 21.82, with Kevin Talley in 3rd at 22.30. And Kevin was second to teammate Khaliff Featherstone in the 400, 49.9 to 49.67. Gratz\'s 4x100 was 42.43 and their 4x400 took just 3:22.81. Central\'s Thurman Sanders doubled with a 1:57.7 and 4:36.13.
