Some of the stars of the high school season continued to shine more brightly than ever at the AAU Mid-Atlantic Association JO Champs held over three days - on Friday June 17 at Gwynedd-Mercy, and on Saturday and Sunday June 17-18 at Plymouth-Whitemarsh.
In the Youth classifications (those soon to be in high school), Jenn Hoy of the Ambler Olympic Club long-jumped 18-02.00, Ray Stinsman of Ambler OC took the Discus with a throw of 151-01.25, and Mt. Airy\'s Shawn David went 24.02 for 200 and 53.70 for 400.
In the Intermediate Girls, Mount Airy TC\'s Clarenchell Tate went 12.19 and 25.28 to win the 100 and 200; Ryann Krais of Eagleville Elite, long-jumped 19-05.50, a PR, and also won the 400 in 56.53 and the one-lapper with hurdles in 1:02.76. Jermaine Lowery of the Delco Stalliions took the Hurdles events in 15.44 for the 110 and 58.02 for the 400 variety for the Intermediate Boys.
For the Young Women, it was Shardee Anderson of Trinity TC going 12.38 and 25.48 for the sprint double; while Brianna Broyles of Mount Airy TC went 15.25 to win the 100 Hurdles, and 1:03.98 to take the 400 Hurdles. Conshohocken Elite\'s Da\'Rel Scott went 11.15 and 22.20 to win the 100 and 200 in the Young Men\'s Classification, while Tony Gregory of Fairless HIlls, long-jumped 22-00.75 and triple-jumped 46-09.00 for two wins.
