NOTE: To ensure that athletes are credited with all elite performances during the summer meets, we use their in-season high school team. Thank you for your understanding.
Some of PA\'s spring stars kept their seasons going strong at the two PA-focused USATF Association Championships on the last weekend in June. At the Three Rivers Association meet at Slippery Rock University, East Allegheny\'s James King advanced in both the 100 with a 10.90 and 200, with his 22.30, both in prelims, but winning both finals in the Young Men\'s division. Greater Latrobe\'s Caitlin Hewitt cleared 12-00 to win the Pole Vault. Nate Kiss, Windber, went 14.70 to finish 2nd to Penn Hills\' Alex Henson in the YM 110 Hurdles (Finals times were slower). In the girls\' sprints, Breehana Jacobs, Laurel Highlands, went 24.38 to beat both Charelise Davis (Oakland Catholic) and Kaetlyn Brown (Schenley), in the YW 200. In the 100 finals, it was Jacobs beating Davis 12.00 to 12.03.
In the Mid-Atlantic meet, which included athletes from New Jersey and Delaware, the names, and results were also similar to the high school season. Clarenchell Tate, (Simon Gratz), went 12.03 and 24.86 to win the Intermediate Girls division 100 and 200. Easton\'s Chanell Price won the 800 in 2:11.59. Chichester\'s Carrington Queen kept his steps quick in the 110 Hurdles, winning the YM division in 14.30. Gratz teammates Kevin Talley and Khaliff Featherstone each won an event, with Talley going 22.57 for 200, and Featherstone 49.61 in the 400. Talley was 2nd in the 400 in 49.60.
