Leading from the gun, State College junior Katherine Ward won the Mountain Athletic Conference comfortably in 19:03 at the Indian Valley Middle School course, leading her team to a six-point win over favored Altoona. On the boys' side, Altoona's Zach Epple pulled ahead of Indian Valley's Ben Loht in the last quarter mile to win in 16:42. But the State College boys pulled off the easy team win with 5 in the top 8.
