DVGTCA Indoor Meet #3
Swenson came away with three individual gold medals in the sprint events, led by a state leading performance in the 400 meter dash from freshman Markeeta Thomas (58.77), a 55 meter hurdles win by Amy Hicks (8.61), and a 200 meter win from Imani Harris (26.16, PA#2), and . Swenson also won the 4x200 meter relay in a new state leading time of 1:47.74.

Downingtown East took over the state and US lead in the 4x800 meter relay with a winning time of 9:30.34. Note Dame (9:39.13) and Garnet Valley (9:41.05) ran the 2nd and 3rd best times in the state in that race. The top five performances in the 800 are PA#s2 through #6, with Elise Claffey of Great Valley winning the race in 2:20.86. Sarah Holl of Upper Dublin ran 5:12.22 to win the mile. Foot Locker Finalist Tori Gerlach was 2nd in 5:14.16 to finish 2nd. The performances are PA#2 and PA#3 respectively. Taylor Morgan of Upper Dublin won her 2nd high jump competiion in a row with a clearance of 5-4.

TFCAofGP Meet #3
Haneef Hardy of Swenson took over the state lead in the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 50.60. Wellington Zaza took over the state lead in the 60 meter hurdles with a winning time of 8.25, putting him at PA#1 in 3 events. His teammate Chris Williams joined him on the top of the state list in the 60 meter dash, running 7.17 for victory. Strath Haven improved their state leading time in the distance medley, running 10:54.96 to win for the 2nd straight week. Ryan Horgan of Holy Ghost Prep ran a PA#3 time of 1:58.88 to win the 800 meter run. Chazz Wilks of Cardinal O'Hara threw 54 feet even to win the shot put and earn PA#3 honors.
Division 1 followed with state leading performances of their own. Brandon Shippen of Norristown became the new state leader in the 60 meter dash with his winning time of 7.10. Eric Futch of Penn Wood continued his amazing hot streak of performances, running 50.30 to win the 400 and become the state leader. Lasalle ran 8:18.96 to win the 4x800 meter relay and earn PA#1 honors, while North Penn won the distance medley relay in 10:53.10 to top the state list. Johnathon Stiles of Penn Wood ran 23.41 to win the 200 meter dash and earn PA#3 hoonors. Boyertown's Brett Kelly ran a PA#3 time of 4:31.75 to win the mile.

Gwynedd Mercy's Taylor Williams took over PA#1 in the 200, going 25.42, to go with her PA#5 55 meter dash of 7.36. Engineering & Science freshman Kanae Taylor ran a PA#10 400 of 1:01.00.

Penn Wood Boys (3rd in 1:31.46) and Swenson Girls (2nd in 1:46.14) qualify for the 4x200 meter relay finals with PA#1 marks! Swenson girls won the 4x200 meter relay final with a US#9 performance of 1:43.87, whie Penn Wood finished 3rd in the boys final in a US#10 time of 1:31.04! Swenson then won the 4x400 meter relay with a US#1 time of 3:52.95! Swenson also added a 3rd place finish in the girls shuttle hurdle relay with a US#2 time of 34.51. Penn Wood's girls finished 2nd to Swenson in the 4x400 with a US#3 time of 3:59.76! Penn Wood's boys finished 2nd in the 4x400 with a time of 3:21.84. Holy Ghost Prep finished 5th in the Distance Medley Championship with a time of 10:33.11, 20 seconds better than any team in PA thus far! Drew Magaha of Upper Moreland finished 4h in the Invitational 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.78. Cardinal O'Hara girls finished 4th in the Championship distance medley in 12:37.65. In field event relay action, Roman Catholic won the boys long jump relay with a combined mark of 41-1.25 and Penn Wood's girls finished 3rd in the triple jump relay with a mark of 67-8.
Other top ten finishes include CB East in the girls 4x200 (9th in 1:48.60, PA#4) and girls 4x800 (9th in 10:17.67), Downingtown West in the boys 4x200 (7th in 1:32.35, PA#3), Upper Moreland in the boys 4x400 (9th in 3:31.20), and Haneef Hardy in the Invitational Boys 800 (8th in 2:01.80)

Reigning AAA outdoor triple jump champion Imani Brown of Reading won the triple jump with a US#1 mark of 48-2.50. 2nd place went to Brad Najac of Schuylkill Valley, who had a PA#3 mark of 45-7.50. The top three places in the boys 200 meter dash are also the top three 200 meter performances in the state this season. T.J. Elliott of Central Dauphin East was the winner in a US#2 time of 22.78, Bobby Smutsky of Northern was 2nd in a US#5 time of 22.99, and John Landis of Father Judge was 3rd in a T-US#6 time of 23.04. Landis did win the long jump over Brown with a PA#2 mark of 22-3.75. Brown's mark of 22-1 is PA#4. Julian Hill of Freedom (11) took over the state lead in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.09. Joseph O'Such of Spring Ford ran a PA#4 time of 4:34.15 to win the mile run.
For the girls, Virginia LaMacchia of Central Columbia became the first PA girl, and 2nd in the country this season to clear 12 feet in the pole vault. Jordan Matthews of Abington improved on her PA#1 mark in the long jump with a T-US#7 performance of 18-1. Diamond Hodge of Girls High won the 200 meter dash in a US#5 time of 26.34.
Kennedy Weisner of Elk County Catholic ran a US#9 time of 10:32.16 to win the 3000 meter run. Lauryn Solt of Palmerton Area cleared 5-4 to win the high jump.
Amy Darlington of Liberty ran 5:19.49 to win the mile run. Mary Witmer of Ephrata ran 59.64 to win the 400 meter dash.

Robert J. Burdette Indoor Classic
The guys side of the meet produced an unprecedented five US#1 performances to highlight the end of the 2011 calendar year in PA. Chris Williams (15-3 pole vault) and Wellington Zaza (8.04 60 meter hurdles) earned US#1 marks for Strath Haven.
Dustin Wilson of Chestnut Hill Academy ran his first race since earning All-American honors at the Foot Locker Finals and ran a US#1 time of 8:48.69 to win the 3000 meter run.
Praduman Singh of Upper Darby threw a US#1 mark of 59-4.75 to win the shot put. Imani Brown of Reading improved his US#1 mark in the triple jump with a mark of 48-5. Jarred Posey of William Penn (47-7.50) and Wellington Zaza of Strath Haven (47-2.50) were US#3 and US#4 performances respectively. Other state leading performances include a 6.96 60 meter dash from T.J. Elliott of Central Dauphin East, and Eric Futch in the 200 meter dash (22.63)
For the girls, Emma Keenan of Gwynedd-Mercy Academy ran her first 800 meter run of the season and came away with the win in a new state leading and US#2 time of 2:17.01. Deme'shia Davis of Central Dauphin East ran 25.45 to take over the state lead in the 200 meter dash. Quadaisha Newkirk of Paul Robeson became the new state leader in the triple jump with a mark of 37-3. Diamond Hodge of Girls High also bettered the old state leading mark with a PA#2 mark of 36-10.50. Meghan McGovern of North Penn ran 5:16.66 to win the mile run and also anchored their winning distance medley relay and their 2nd place 4x800 meter relay.
