Susan Crowe, the mother of one of the top distance runners at State College High School, was killed Sunday, February 12th in a car accident in North Carolina. She was an icon of the Centre County running community. On Saturday, February 18th, her daughter Edel, raced in the Penn State Invitational, running 10:44.14 in the 3000, and helping her team's 4x800 run 9:50.11. There was a moment of silence in memory of Sue at the meet. Centre Daily Times sports writer Cecily Cairns writes about Sue in the February 19th edition of the paper.
