Kyle Felpel of Cocalico became the first PA thrower to throw 60 feet this season in the shot put with his winning and US#6 mark of 60-1.25! Steven Goeltz of Wilson cleared 14 feet in the pole vault. Ricky Bruno of Exeter won the long jump (21-5.50) and the triple jump (40-1.75). For the girls, Kayla Hope of Tamaqua won the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 18-0.75, a quarter of an inch behind the state leading mark of 18-1, and only the 2nd 18 foot jump this season. Bryanna Beamer of Cheltenham won the triple jump with a PA#7 mark of 36-6.75.

Strath Haven's girls finished 2nd with a PA#1 and US#4 time of 9:10.59! Strath Haven boys finished 3rd in the Metropolitan 4x800 meter relay with a PA#1 and US#10 time of 7:54.31!
In the girls' Invitational Mile, Maria Seykora, Academy of Notre Dame, made a move at chasing the leader, and eventually finished 9th in 4:58.00. Pennridge's Tori Gerlach was 10th in 5:03.70, while Pennsbury junior Sara Sargent was 12th in 5:14.87. In the boys Invitational Mile, Great Valley senior Ned Willig was 11th in 4:25.83.

PTFCA Indoor Track Carnival

The annual PTFCA Carnival produced some great performances and some US top ten marks. Kyle Felpel of Cocalico won the boys shot put with a US#4 mark of 62-8.75 (58-10/62-8.85/61-1.5/59-3.75/F/)F!
Chris Williams won the 60 meter hurdles in 7.95. He is currently US#3 with a 7.87. 2nd place went to Aaron Willett of Coatesville in a US#6 time of 7.99! Williams would also win the pole vault with a US#9 clearance of 15-9! TJ Elliott of Central Dauphin East won the 200 meter dash (PA#1 22.15) and the 60 meter dash with a T-US#7 time of 6.88!
Top state marks came from all over the place! Deme'shia Davis of Central Dauphin East became the first PA girl to break 25 seconds in the 200 meter dash, winning the race in 24.98! Eliana Yankelev of Lower Merion ran a PA#3 time of 9.21 to win the 60 meter hurdles.
Ceaira Brown of Overbrook came through victorious in the 800 meter run with a PA#2 time of 2:14.29. Megan McCloskey broke the meet record in the high jump with a clearance of 5-7.50.
Diamond Hodge of Girls High won the long jump with a new state leading mark of 18-4.75. Jordan Matthews was 2nd with a PA#2 mark of 18-2.50. Angel Piccirillo of Homer Center won the mile (5:04.21), the 3000 (10:26.97), and finished 3rd in the 800 meter run (2:15.68). Grace Giampetro of Villa Maria and Virginia LaMacchia of Central Columbia both cleared 11-6 in the pole vault. Swenson girls won the 4x200 (1:44.36) and 4x400 meter relays (4:00.33).
For the boys, Niager Mathis of Swenson had 2nd place finishes in the 60 meter dash (PA#2 6.94) and the 200 meter dash (PA#3 22.30). Johnathan Stiles of Penn Wood won the 400 meter dash with a new state leading time of 49.87. Ibn Short of Milton Hershey and Jalen Ramsey of Norristown both cleared PA#3 marks of 6-6 in the high jump. Imani Brown of Reading won the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 22-8. 2nd place went to Khiry Twyman of Girard College was 2nd with a PA#4 mark of 22-6.

Spire D-1 Indoor T&F Inv and HS Showcase
Hannah Green of Greater Latrobe ran a PA#6 time of 58.60 to win the 400 meter dash. Kennedy Weisner of Elk County Catholic finished 2nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:01.74, and ran 2:17.53 to finish 4th in the 800 meter run. Margo Malone of North Hills ran 11:14.66 to win the 3200 meter run. North Hills also won the distance medley relay, narrowly missing the state lead with a PA#2 time of 12:19.90. Larisa Debich of Hempfield cleared 12-5 to win the pole vault. the 1-2 Hickory duo of Taylor Woods (PA#2 42-3.75) and Jennifer Neider (42-2.50) finished 1st and 2nd in the shot put.
For the boys, Tyler Ross of Greater Latrobe became the new state leader in the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 49.07! Oliver Phlogene of Seneca Valley was 2nd behind Ross with a PA#3 time of 49.89. Logan Steiner of North Allegheny finished 3rd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:23.74. Jeff Elam of Greater Latrobe won the 60 meter hurdles with a PA#7 time of 8.35. John Mudrey of Hickory cleared 6-4 to win the high jump. Patrick Anderson of Kane Area cleared a PA#2 mark of 15-7 to win the pole vault. Matt Bell of Hickroy threw 58-10.25 to win the shot put.

Shawn Johnson of Canon-McMillan inproved his PA#1 High Jump to 6-8, and his PA#8 Triple Jump to 45-7.25. He also captured the long jump, going 21-7.25. Washington PA sophomore Alyssa Wise won the 55 dash in 7.48 and the 200 in 26.85. Baldwin's Krista Kuss went 1:00.86 to take the 400. Double winners for the boys were Washington's Dustin Fuller in the 200 in 23.85 and 52.64 in the 400... along with the Trinity (7) 4x200 relay in 1:39.09 and the 4x400 in 3:42.71. Trinity's Josh Urso went 2:02.35 to win the 800.

Tom Coyle of Lasalle set a new meet record while coming close to breaking one of the oldest records on the books. Coyle won the mile with a PA#2 timw of 4:21.98, missing the meet record by two seconds. Later, he came away with another victory in the 3000 meter run with a meet record and PA#4 time of 8:55.55.
John Landis of Father Judge was also a double winner, winning the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 23-1 and the triple jump with a meet record and PA#2 mark of 47-10.25. Todd Townsend of West Catholic raun 8.27 to win the 60 meter hurdles after setting a meet record and PA#5 time of 8.23 in the prelims. Matt Smalley of Father Judge ran a PA#6 time of 7.04 to win the 60 meter dash. Andrew Stone of Lasalle was 2nd in the mile (PA#8 4:24.95) and won the 800 meter run (2:00.79). Dan Savage of Cardinal O'Hara was 2nd in the 3000 meter run with a PA#6 mark of 8:56.88. In the team standings, Cardinal O'Hara came away with a narrow victory over Lasalle by a score of 123-117.
For the girls, Jada Steward of West Catholic won both the 60 meter dash (PA#4 7.79) and the 200 meter dash (PA#6 25.72). Teresa Ortiz of St Hubert's was also a double winner, running a lifetime best 5:18.77 to win the mile, and 10:55.08 to win the 3000 meter run. Both Logan Brenker of Conwell Egan and Kelly Hooven of St Hubert's had PA#4 marks of 17-11 in the long jump. Archbishop Prendergast were the only double relay winners on the day, winning the 4x200 (1:49.15) and 4x400 meter relays (4:13.63). In the team standings, St Hubert's successfully defended their title, holding off 2nd place Archbishop Prendergast 111.5 to 102.

Conestoga HS and Princeton University grad Liz Costello finished third in the senior women's 8K in 27:18 and will represent Team USA at the North American, Central American, Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships March 17 in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
In the Junior Men's 8K, Grove City grad and Notre Dame freshman Jacob Kildoo, finished 5th in 25:05.8.
