PA Launch 6/7: Lower Merion PA grad co-founds running apparel company to help Kenya & Haiti

Former Lower Merion runner Dave Spandorfer has helped create a new running apparel brand, Janji, which gives back to Haiti and Kenya.  Each piece of Janji apparel is designed after a country's flag and helps address that country's unique food or water need.

On June 7th at 7:30 pm, Janji will be premiering at Bryn Mawr Running Company on Lancaster Road. Enjoy free Kenyan food, free Haitian food and try on Janji's new running apparel. First 50 customers get a Janji water bottle!

So far they have had product launches in St Louis, Chicago, Atlanta, and Cincinnati.

Women's Run for Kenya and Run for Haiti shorts. Complete product line here.

How Janji was born:

On the way to the 2010 Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Mike and Dave had an idea: what if they could get runners to give back not just during charitable races, but during each and every run? By the time the track meet was over, Janji was born.

About Janji:

Janji is a movement of runners devoted to ending the global food and water crisis. While we runners require lots of clean water and a ton of healthy food to help us train, run our 5ks, and finish our marathons, hundreds of millions around the world lack the simple nourishment just to survive.

But we can change that.

Through our distinct apparel that funds solutions and raises awareness, Janji wants to create a nation of runners that, together, can stop food shortages and give clean water. By teaming up, we can give hope and health to millions around the world.
