Weekly Highlights by day:

MONDAY 5/8-THURSDAY 5/11: At Widener University on Monday in the PCL Southern Division Championships, the West Catholic girls won every individual sprint, and often took 2nd as well to capture another Division crown with 174 points, 22 better than runner-up Cardinal O'Hara. In the boys' competition, it was Monsignor Bonner nearly doubling the 2nd place team's point total to with with a dominating 202. In the two PCL Northern Division Championships on 5/8-9 at Father Judge HS, the host boys of Father Judge welcomed their competition by taking them title with 147 points to edge LaSalle by just 3-1/3 points. Also on Monday at the Under the Lights Invite at Northern York HS, Camp Hill's Adam Smith tuned up for the big races to come with a 1:55.80 800. Brandon Tress, Bible Baptist, took both hurdles. Harrisburg Christian School's Sam Hanmer took both sprints. On Tuesday, the Archbishop Ryan girls scored in every event except one, and swept the top two spots in the 800, Mile and 3200, and the top three in the High Jump to dominate the competition with 192.5 points. At the LVIAC Champs @ William Allen HS, Easton's Chanelle Price ran alone to a 2:13.9 800. Teammate Jessica Dorsey8 hit the 11.9-24.8 sprint double and contributed to the 48.9 4x100.. Allen's Brianna Broyles went through the hurdles in 14.3 and 43.9. Parkland's John Carelli with a nice triple, 22-10.50 LJ, 45-09.50 TJ, 6-08 HJ. Allen's Rushane Scott 10.5-21.4. At the PIAA District 12 AA meet, Asha Jaramogi of Masterman, a junior, won the 100 in 12.5, the Long Jump 1t 17-05 and hit a 35-04 Triple Jump, plus was the lead-off leg of the winning 49.9 4x100. At the Robert Spagna Champs at Montrose on Thursday, Scranton's Tiffany Smith won the 100 and 200; Wallenpaupack's Justin Kraft also won two, taking the Shot Put with a 51-01 and the Discus, going 162-10.

FRIDAY 5/12-SATURDAY 5/13: At the Central League Individual Champs at Lower Merion, Conestoga took 1-2 in the 800 as Carly Niness ran 2:13.8 and Liz Costello was just behind at 2:14.3. The two teamed with Ashley Niness and Kierstin Quinn to run a quick 3:54.9 4x400. In the girls' 800, Northern's Rachel Wong ran 2:13.58. At the Mid-Penn Conference Championships, Central Dauphin's Andrew Rotz blew the doors off in the 800, going 1:52.64. Camp Hill's Adam Smith was 2nd in 1:53.05. In Friday's 3200, Big Spring's Lara Crofford ran a PAA#1 10:44.29, with Boiling Springs soph Kara Millhouse 2nd in 10:52.77. Millhouse then won the 1600 Saturday in 5:05.45. If you come to States, stand back from the track during the boys' 4x400 final. Cumberland Valley showed their Penn Relays' performance was something they could repeat, gong 3:17.58. Harrisburg had a better experience than their recent past, gong 3:19.01. CV anchor David Stonfer put a 48.65 400 on the board. Harrisburg's Delon Isom won both hurdles events, going 14.38 and 38.31. Central Dauphin East's Nate Speaks went 10.99 and 22.13 in the 100 and 200. The Northern York girls ran 9:24.99 in the 4x800. Bensalem's Reggie Carter set two PRs by .01 and busted a 3rd in sweeping the 100 in 10.86, the 200 in 21.79, and the 400 in 47.31 at the SOL National Conference Champs at North Penn HS. The host 4x800's left little doubt about their intentions at Districts and States, going 7:53.72 and 9:33.58. Brandon Turner, North Penn, 46-10.50 TJ. Allison Sikora, Council Rock North, 5:14.02-11:21.28. At the PIAA District 12 AAA Championship, Simon Gratz cruised in some events, and let it fly in others. Kenneth Talley and twin brother Kevin went one-two in the 200. Kenneth also took 2nd in the 100 behind a 10.74 by Martin Luthher King's Anthony Bishop. The Central girls won the team title by four points over Girls High. At the Girls' Inter-Ac Championshps, there were meet records at almost every turn, but the biggest was a 5-07 High Jump by Germantown Academy's Caroline Doty. Germantown Academy won the team title. Taylor Bumpas, Gwynedd-Mercy, and Kathleen Davies, St. Basil, each won two individual running events at the Bicentennial League Champs, but it was the depth of S. Basil's that prevailed in a 197-159 win over Gwynedd-Mercy. Girard College's Jesse Brown won both Hurdles and the Triple Jump. Holy Ghost Prep defended their home turf for the boys team title. Methacton show the whole way behind the headliner act of Ryann Krais as she captured four individual events, the 400 in 55.34, the 100 Hurdles in a hand-timed 14.4h (14.54p), the 300 in 42.90, and the Long Jump at 18-02.25. won the boys' title. Upper Dublin's Matt Gordon won the 400 in 49.54 and the 800, going 1:54.66. Upper Moreland's Mike Valenza went 15.56 in the 110 Hurdles and 40.4h in the 300 variety. Florian Ijelu, Wissahickon, leapt 6-04, 21-03.75 and 44-07.75 for the High, Long and Triple Jump titles. The Wissahickon 4x800 ran 7:50.90. Double winners at the SOL Continental Conference Champs @ Wissahickon were Ije Iheoma Council Rock South (12.56-25.50 100-200), and Kayla Hennessy, William Tennent, 15.28-44.85 Hurdles for the girls... and John Gibson Central Bucks South (11.24-22.59 100-200), for the boys. Peter Selby of Norristown, was the sole triple champ, taking the 400 in 51.20, the 110 Hurdles in 15.28 and the 300 Hurdles in 40.35. It'sBrad Miller's time to show that his first full year of solid training has paid off. The Manheim Township senior put down a deposit at the Lebanon-Lancaster League Champs @ Hempfield HS, smoking the 3200 in a 9:09.4, and then running 2nd in the 800 with a 1:53.2, behind the 1:52.9 by Conestoga Valley's Jared Weaver. McCaskey's Ceasar Westbrook leapt 22-02 and 46-04.50 for two wins. Cedar Crest hurdler Tobias RobinsonTobias Robinson went 14.7 and 39.0. Columbia's Jill Meshey sprinted to wins in the 200 (25.2) and 400 (56.6). Lancaster Mennonite's Lindsey Shertzer had a strong 2-lap, 4-lap double, going 2:15.8 and 5:03.2. At the Southern Chester County League Champs @ Great Valley, Avon Grove's Brianna Cavallaro was a double winner, going 12.64 and 25.66 in the 100 and 20. Mike Brodsky of Unionville, took the 400 in 50.91, the 300 Hurdles in 40.30,and the 800 in 1:58.82. 2nd in the 800 was teammate Paul Springer in 1:59.91, but Springer took the 1600 in 4:22.78 and the 3200 in 9:39.0. Oxford's Laura Blaesser also did the distance double, going 5:18.47 and 11:30.95. Hickory High School was the host to Mercer County T&F Invitational, where Brittany Maun of Reynolds was a double winner, clearing 5-03 in the High Jump and leaping 35-04.25 in the Triple Jump. She also took 4th in the Long Jump. Grove City's Tim Grueber threw the Javelin 183-01... and teammate Kristy Woods was the top thrower in two events, the Shot Put at 43-01 and the Discus with a 121-11 effort. At thePioneer Athletic Conference Champs, double individual event winners included Chase DiFabbio, Phoenixville, 11.02-22.30; Jason Weller, Boyertown, 4:22.27-9:20.0; Steph Fulmer, St. Pius, 5:14.34-11:26.1; and Aeisha Harper, Pottstown, 15.75 100H-17-05.75. At the Northern Tier Champs at Athens Area, Dailyn Cooney of Wellsboro, won the 300 Hurdles in 47.68 and the Long Jump at 16-03. She was 2nd in the 100H and 3rd in the High Jump. Athens' Melissa Miller captured the 400 in 1:00.76 and the 100 in 12.57. The javelin was one of the hottest events at the Susquehanna Valley League Championships @ Selinsgrove HS on 5/13 as Danville's Travis Miller unloaded a US#4 208.06 to beat the current US#1 thrower, Selinsgrove's Josh Hostetler, who threw 203-01. Danville's Josh Perruquet cleared 6-06 in the High Jump. Selinsgrove'sRyan Drzewiecki made quick work of both hurdles, going 14.84 and 39.35. Central Columbia sophomore Cliff Toledo won the 100 in 10.86 and the 200 in 21.96.
