1/25 - PA athletes compete at NBN

 

In a meet where elite shared the atmosphere, and sometimes the track, with high school athletes, PA performed well, as several individuals and teams took home first place medals. In the Girls' Sprint Medley Relay, the West Catholic squad of Jackson,Cortes, Leach and Thomas went 4:05.19 for the win. while Pennsbury was third with a 4:11.97. In the Relays, the Pennsbury Long Jump team of Al Gregory and Lynch combined for a 44-07.25 effort to win; while the O'Hara Shot Put tandem of AndrewLynch and Bob McDale threw a combined 95-03 for first. In the invitational miles, Hatboro-Horsham senior Janine Ricci withstood the tough competition and finished 6th in 5:07.48, while Lynn Morelli, St. Basil was 8th in 5:12.92 and Rebecca Powell, Pennsbury, was 12th in 5:22.57. In the boys Mile, O'Hara's Steve Hallinan went 4:22.95 for 9th, posting the best for the distance in PA this season. In the girls 4x400,Conestoga was 3rd in 4:04.21 (Pennsbury 4:10.88). The Cardinal O'Hara girls went 9:41.01, while Hatboro-Horsham girls went 9:42.98 in the 4x800. The Downingtownboys went 8:14.64. In the boys 4x400, O'Hara went 3:29.45, while Pennsbury went 3:35.20. O'Hara boys were timed in 1:34.12 in the 4x200.
