Billy Stanley of South Park set a school record in the javelin with a US#2 mark of 212-3 at his home meet on Wednesday, breaking the old school record of 211-6 by Chad Radgowski in 2005.
A US=#6 clearance in the boys high jump highlighted a group of West Virginia winners in the South Hills Classic near Pittsburgh. In his first track meet since last summer, Errin Baynes of Wheeling Park brushed off the rust and any questions about his recovery from a basketball injury with a resounding victory over the floppers. The Southern Cal-bound standout had a massive clearance of 6 feet, 10 inches, before missing thrice at 7 feet.
Brynn Harshbarger, Morgantown High School junior, won the girls' individual 3200-meter run title at the South Hills Classic meet on Saturday, March 31st at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Her time of 11:01.19 is tops among West Virginia High School girls’ all-classes for the 2012 outdoor track & field season.
