LaSalle College and North Penn went to New York to race in the biggest one-day invitational, the Manhattan Inv at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Both teams drew the toughest race, in the tougest weather, and responded well. In western PA, Latrobe dominated their Westmoreland County meet behind the one-two punch of Natalie Bower and Liz Brickley, while the Norwin boys used a tight pack to beat Penn Trafford on Thursday 10/6. There were puddles, muddy hillsides, falling runners, and finally... a flat track with some traction to welcome the soaked runners from their 3 mile trek over the William Tennent HS campus. The rain and conditions didn\'t slow Liz Costello or Tom Mooney as much as you\'d think...
