Meet Information

Dear Coaches,

The Abington Senior High Track & Field team would like to invite you to our 5th Annual Armstrong Track & Field Invitational to be run on Friday April 19, 2013. The meet will be held on our 8-lane track in Schwartzman Stadium.

The High School meet format this year features open events and relays in 2 different categories for both boys and girls. Those are Novice races and Varsity races. There will not be a team score held. The meet will be automatically timed. The meet will begin at 3:30 PM rain or shine.

Entry Fee

Entry fee is $125 per boys or girls teams or $225 for both. Individuals fee is $10.00 per event and relays $40.00 per relay. Please make non-refundable checks payable to Abington Track & Field.

Entry Process

Entries will be done via pa.milesplit.com Log in and do your entries there. Entries are due by April 17 at 11:59 PM. With this late entry, there should be very few scratches. We should be able to put the performance list up by Wednesday morning. There will be no day of meet additions.

Equipment

Spikes of 1/4 inches or less for running and jumping events. Shot Put and Discus events are from concrete surfaces (No Spikes Allowed). Javelin is from a grass surface. Javelin spikes are allowed.

Awards

Top 6 in each event will receive medals.

Rules

NFHS Rules apply for uniforms, etc.
The meet will be sanctioned by the NFHS.
Track events are girls followed by boys.
Please note the standards to get more than 2 athletes into the meet.
All heats will run slow to fast.
Time schedule is just a guideline.

All track events are girls followed by boys. Please note the standards to get more than 3 athletes into the meet. *All heats will run slow to fast. *Time schedule is just a guideline.

Unlimited entries will be allowed in the novice 1600-meter run for all boys who can run under 5:30 and for all girls who can run under 6:30. We will run a maximum of 2 heats for each sex.

Measuring: All athletes will have first jump or throw measured. Remainder of jumps or throws have to meet minimum meet standards above to be measured. (This will ensure the meet will move at good pace.)
