Meet Information
We would like to invite you and your cross-country team to the 2018 PUNXSY CROSS COUNTRY RELAY INVITATIONAL, to be held Wednesday, October 17st beginning at 3:30 pm. The races will be held at the Punxsutawney Country Club, ensuring a fast and well-manicured layout for the athletes. This is meant to be low-key, enjoyable late season event to give your athletes a break for the rigors of a long season of 5ks and get in a race during the final week of the regular season when many teams have no events scheduled on their dual meet calender.

Format: There will be two divisions, male and female, for both the high school and middle school divisions. Athletes will compete on two-person teams, so each runner will race a 1.55 mile course to combine for a 5k (3.1 mile) final time.
Schedule: We ask that teams try not to arrive before 2:00 pm, and the course will be closed to all athletes until 2:30 pm due to golfers using the facility.
2:30 pm Athletes can begin walking the course
3:15 pm Coaches meeting if necessary
3:30 pm Varsity Boys Division Relay
4:15 pm Varsity Girls Division Relay
5:00 pm Middle School Boys Division Relay
5:45 pm Middle School Girls Division Relay
6:45 pm Awards
Entry Fee: The entry fee is 50 dollars per team per gender for the varsity, and 25 dollars per team per gender for the middle school. For example, a team with athletes in all four divisions would owe 150.00, whereas a varsity team only with both boys and girls would pay 100.00. A school only competing with a middle school team would owe 50.00, etc.

Entry Deadline: Friday, October 12th at 9:00 pm
Awards: Awards will be as follows:
*Top 10 combined duos for varsity and top 5 combined duos for middle school divisions (fastest combined time)
*Top 3 fastest individual overall splits-varsity and middle school
*1st place overall team-cross country scoring places 1-4 varsity (must have a minimum of four relay teams per gender to qualify for team title) and places 1-3 middle school (must have a minimum of three relay teams per gender to qualify for team title)
Tiebreaker for the overall team title will be the fastest combined time (for example, teams 1-4 for boys team A ran a combined time of 68:00 minutes, while team B ran 70:00. Team A would win the tiebreaker).
Additional: All athletes not on a two-person relay can compete in the relay division race and would be eligible for the fastest split awards.
*Locker Room facilities will be available in the clubhouse.
*Food/drinks will be on sale at the concession stand
*A limited number of shirts will be available for sale at a cost of $15.00.
