They knew they could because they had done so before. The toughest part was biding their time, waiting for the appropriate moment. With the shackles of their early season training finally removed, the Central Bucks South foursome of Jeff Dickson, Dave Manion, Matt Poiesz and Tom Mallon did let it rip, posting a season-best 7:49.01 to win the 4x800 meter relay at the PTFCA Indoor Championships.

The PTFCA State Championships is always full of interesting story lines, and this meet certainly did not disappoint. There was the winning relay team, fueled by individual disappointment, the sprinter who overcame the flu and her competition, the mid-distance runner who exceeded expectations and transcended her age, and the team title won with team depth.
You can toss in spectacular, phenomenal and mind boggling as well. All are accurate descriptors with the initial three being the one’s bandied about the most by the throngs of bobble-headed spectators shaking their heads in disbelief or utter amazement of what they had just witnessed.
