Dear Coach,
We hope that you'll consider joining us for the 2022 Distance Project hosted by Phoenixville Area HS. The meet is scheduled for THURSDAY MARCH 24th 2022 and will take place on Phoenixville's lightning fast track beginning at 3PM. The goal of the meet is simple: provide a venue for your distance runners to run the fastest they ever have. There is no sprinting, no jumping, no hurdling, no throwing at this meet - purely distance-based events. While we fully anticipate very elite performances and times to be run, we also recognize that distance is about long term development and personal progress. For that reason, there are no limits in terms of entries for open events and encourage you to bring as many distance runners as you see fit that would benefit from a meet and environment like this. Heats will be determined by times submitted so we ask that you put some careful thought into seeding appropriately so as to ensure each heat will produce great times and great personal best performances. Relay events are limited to 2 teams per school per gender.
Some other reasons you might want to consider coming out:
~ An opportunity to put all of your focus and coaching efforts into one group of athletes for an invitational
~ FAT Timing and a great opportunity to go after PR's and League/District seed times early in the season after training all winter
~ Unique relay events not seen anywhere else your runners will love
Schedule of Events (All events girls followed by boys - heats run slow to fast) (Rolling schedule)
3PM 1600 meter (open)
4 x 1000 meter relay
800 meter (open)
4 x 300m relay (NEW THIS YEAR - each person runs 300 meters)
3200 meter (open)
4 x 600 meter relay (Each person runs 600 meters - a fun alternative to the 4 x 400)
The entry fee is 150 per team, or 275 for both genders (due March 18th). Checks can be made payable to "PAHS."
