Pine Grove Area Invitational

Pine Grove Area will be hosting its 14th annual Track and Field Invitational on Friday, April 22, 2022. .

We have an all-weather track. The high jump area, long and triple jump runway, and javelin runway also have an all weather surface. inch spikes only.

Cost is $150 per team. ($250 for both the girls and boys squad.) Make checks payable to the

Cardinals Track and Field Booster. C/O Emily Daubert. 103 School Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963 or you can bring the check to venue.

Pole vault will not be a contested event.

Only two participants from each school per event. One relay team from each school. Substitutions and scratches can be made before the start of the meet for running events. The substitutions and scratches for field events will be made at the event. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and ribbons for 4th, 5th, and 6th. A trophy will be awarded to the girls and boys team that accumulates the most points. Scoring for the meet will be 10-8-6-4-2-1.

There will be designated areas for tent set-up. Please do not put them up on the home side bleachers.

In field events, except for high jump, the first two attempts will be measured. After that, there will be a minimum mark established in order for the attempt to be measured. Each competitor will be given 4 attempts.

For sprinting events (high hurdles, 100, 200) fastest times will advance to the finals. (This is a change from previous years.) We will decide on a boxed alley or waterfall start for the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, and the 4*800 relay the day of the race. A two-turn stagger will be used for the 4*400 relay. If we feel there are a lot of competitors for the 800m, we may use more than one heat.

Field event competitors will sign in at the event. For running events, there will be a paddock area outside the gate near the start line.

There will be no tents allowed in the home bleachers.

There will be a meeting for coaches at 2:00 PM near the finish line area.

The field events will start at 2:30.

Running events will start at 2:30 

Weigh-ins will begin at 1:30 near the stadium entrance.

We will use an open pit for the long and triple jumps. The competitor must tell the official his or her name before jumping. There will be one hour allotted for each jumping slot. The times above are tentative. If we can move ahead, we will.

If any athlete must leave to do a running event, please sign out with the official and return as soon as his/her event is done. We have to get the field events in before it gets dark. We have to shoot for 7:30-8 oclock. High jump can be finished under the lights.
