Coaches and Athletic Directors:

Franklin Regional High School cross country will be hosting a Middle School invitational on Friday, September 6th at Shields Farm in Delmont PA. We would like to invite your middle school runners in grades 7 and 8 to attend this invitational. There will only be middle school races at this invite, ensuring the MS kids are the star of the show. This will be our second year of the invite, after a very successful meet last year with limited entries. We are now ready to expand and invite more teams to the race this year.

The course will be a flat start with two hills at the midpoint of the race, then back to a flat finish. All races will be 3K (1.86 miles) and will be well-marked with cones and white paint. It will be a course with little to no repetition and will be extremely spectator-friendly. Concessions and t-shirts will be available for purchase as well. Last year's results can be viewed here. GingerbreadMan Running Co. will be providing timing for the event and live results will be available as the races complete (unless something unforeseen happens)

The course opens 1 pm

Coaches meeting 2:00 pm

Boys Varsity race: 3 pm

Girls Varsity race 3:30 pm

Combined JV race 4:00 pm. The course can accommodate a large race so if entries allow, we will combine the JV runners into the varsity races. We will let everyone attending know the plan once entries close.

Entries: All entries must be completed on Penn-track.

Entry Fee:

$75 for Girl's Middle School Team (first 8 girl Runners)

$75 for Boys Middle School Team (First 8 boy Runners)

$4.00 for each additional runner beyond eight for each gender (unlimited entries)

$15.00 for individuals to enter without a full team.

To try to keep costs reasonable, larger teams, (teams entering over 52 kids) will have a maximum fee of $300.00 and they can enter as many runners as they wish. The entry fees are set so our expenses are covered without overcharging teams. Our goal is to provide an invitational that balances the entry fees with providing top-notch competition that all teams can afford. Results will be posted on the Gingerbread Man Running Company website and on Penn Track once the races are complete.

Awards: We will have a team champion award along with race medals for each varsity race. The number of medalists will be determined based on the number of teams registered to compete. There will be a minimum of 15 medals per gender. If we have more entries than anticipated, we will increase that number.

Parking: Buses will be parked on-site in the baseball field complex parking lot. Spectators should park in the field provided and as directed by the parking workers. Runners will be crossing the road inside the park so please follow the directions of the workers on site to ensure the safety of the runners.

T-shirts will be sold and will include a Custom Fall Classic Design. We will accept cash and Venmo on site for concessions and t-shirts.
