The men's and women's track & field teams will compete at their respective conference championships this weekend, with Penn State playing host to the Big Ten Women's Indoor Championships while the men's team will travel to Minnesota for the Big Ten Men's Indoor Championships. Both will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28.
At the end of day one of action at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the Michigan State track & field program is currently tied for eighth on the men's side and ninth on the women's. Minnesota currently leads in both the men and women.
The University of Iowa track teams completed day one of the 2010 Indoor Big Ten Championships Saturday. The men's championships were at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, while the women traveled east to Penn State University in State Park, PA. At the end of day one, the men find themselves in eighth place with seven points, and the women are in tenth with six points. Minnesota is in the lead for both the men's and women's, with 49.5 and 41 points, respectively.
Senior Alicia Rue captured her third consecutive Big Ten indoor pole vault title setting a new Conference record at 14-3 1/4.

Bolstered by dual individual wins from junior Shavon Greaves, a gold-medal run in the mile by senior Bridget Franek, and a sizzling victory in the 4x400-meter relay, the Nittany Lion women's track and field team captured the program's second-ever Big Ten Indoor Championships victory, Saturday at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
