USATF World Youth Trials: Hill 3rd in Javelin! Chanel Brissett 4th in 100H! Geist 4th in SP!

PA had a small contingent travel to Illinois for the USATF World Youth Trials for an opportunity to qualify for Team USA and represent the country in Colombia later this summer. Grayson Hill of Cathedral Prep was the closest to making the team, while Jordan Geist of Knoch, Hayden Fox of Hempfield (7) and Chanel Brissett of Cheltenham earned top five finishes.

Hill finished 3rd in the javelin with a mark of 193-11, while Fox was 5th in the same event with a mark of 176-5. Jordan Geist finished 4th in the shot put with a mark of 65-0.75 and was 5th in the discys with a mark of 178-11. Chanel Brissett ran her best high hurdles race of her career, placing 4th in the 100 meter hurdles in 13.70.

Julia Howard of Greensburg Salem finished 14th in the heptathlon with a score of 3504. Nick Wagner of Penn Trafford ran 1:54.45 to finish 7th in the 800.
