Uche Nwogwugwu of North Penn won the state championship in the 400 meters indoors and she'll be the favorite to do the same outdoors. Nwogwugwu enters as the favorite in a deep field where there are a handful of competitors who have a chance to challenge her.

Norristown's Jayana Webb has elected to direct her focus on the quarter mile and that should be her best shot at a high finish. She ran 55.19 earlier this season and could sneak in for the state win with a good race.

The senior of the bunch is General McLane's Bethany Evankovich. She boasts a PR of 55.75 from the state final last year, where she took fourth. Evankovich will look to close out her career on a high note on Saturday.

Cheltenham's Alexis Crosby and Penn Wood's Terri Turner have also gone under 56 seconds in the event this season. They were third and fifth respectively at District 1, but they should be serious contenders up front. Crosby will be looking to improve upon her third place finish from last year. Cheltenham's Bria Barnes has steadily improved throughout the season and she ran a season best of 56.31 to take fourth at districts.
