We should be in for an exciting, fast race for the AAA quarter mile title.

The top seed and favorite is Downigntown West's Joshua McLemore. McLemore is looking to complete the 200/400 state double win that he accomplished indoors. McLemore won District 1 with a 48.07 and he'll certainly have his eyes on that 48-second barrier.

Cumberland Valley's Kier Miner will be in pursuit of the upset. Miner has consistently been dropping fast 400 times this season. He sat at PA#1 for a good portion of the season. After a 48.23 at Mid-Penns and a 48.16 at District 3, Miner could be in line for another nice drop this weekend.

The lone finalist from last year's final is Ray Richard of Wyoming Valley West. Richard pulled off a 49.02 to runaway with the District 2 crown and Richard has the ability to mix it up in the front here.

St. Joseph's Prep's standout Miles Green, like McLemore is pursuing sprints glory over the hurdles and green will be a real threat. Green, a sophomore, won District 12 with a 48.80, but he did run 48.25 to win the PCL title.

MLK's Tyreek Mathis has traded in his 100 digs for the 400, and the District 12 runner-up will look to close his career out on the right note. Bishop Shanahan's Keegan Hughes, Penn Wood's Ndiaga Seck, Pennridge's Austin Howell, and State College's Noah Woods will be among the contenders for medals.
