The top three from a year ago will return to the track to kick off Saturday at the PIAA state championships. Vincentian Academy's Marianne Abdalah returns as the defending champion, but she'll see some good competition from last year's runner-up Emma Seifried of Country Day of the Sacred Heart and last year's third place finisher Lauren Gronbeck of Eden Christian Academy.

Abdalah outdueled Gronbeck at Butler earlier this season, but Saturday should set up a nice rematch. Wyomissing's Cassidy Kuhn is maybe the darkhorse in the field, but Kuhn had a huge breakthrough month complete with a sub-11 effort to win the District 3 title. Under the radar no more, look for the senior Kuhn to try and end her career in a big way.

Oley Valley's Rebecca Snyder, Columbia's Jordan Haberstroh, Quaker Valley's Lucie Kubinski and Grove City's Catie Jaskowak will be among those looking to mix it up near the front.
