BOYS PREVIEW: This meet will provide a nice early season clash between some of the best the WPIAL has to offer. Mount Lebanon, Greensburg Salem, and Canon-McMillan will battle for an early season win. Mount Lebanon comes in as the defending champs, led by Bryce Brandenstein, who was second at this meet last year. Greensburg Salem has a strong group up front with sophomores Cameron Binda and Mark Brown, along with senior Frankie King, but Saturday will get a chance to see what kind of depth they have. Canon-McMillan with its top runner, Jonas Wudkwych, will look to prove they can be a contender in District 7 this year. You can never read too much into an early September race, but it can't hurt to start off on the right foot.

GIRLS PREVIEW: Like the boys, the Mount Lebanon girls come in as the defending champs here. They are definitely a different team from last season, but Aoife-Ruby Dunne will hope to help her team repeat. Upper St. Clair and Canon McMillan will threaten for that title. Greensburg Salem's Riley Kwiatkowski (above), Canon McMillan's Morgan Grudi and Upper St. Clair's Savannah Shaw are among the favorites for the individual crown. Kwiatkowski is the defending champ, running 20:13 for the win here last season.
