McDowell Invitational

GIRLS RESULTS

Oakland Catholic's Lauren Finikiotis started off her season the right way, winning convincingly and defending her individual title at the McDowell Invite in Erie. The senior and Preseason PA #11 clocked an 18:31 for the win. She ran away with it too, finishing almost a minute ahead of second place Lily Myers from Fairview.

Finikiotis' Oakland Catholic team scored like 24 points to take the win. Hanna Schupansky was third, Sophie Young was fifth, Kate Aldrich was seventh, and Teresa Davison was eighth in Oakland's dominating performance.

BOYS RESULTS

Saturday provided an early look at some of the more intriguing squads in western PA, representing Districts 7, 8, and 10. It was the D8 squad, Taylor Allderdice that proved to be the strongest yesterday, claiming a narrow three point victory over Harbor Creek, 91-94. Seneca was third with 102 points and Butler took fourth with 127.

Cambridge Springs' Connor Walsh, the reigning Single-A D10 champ, got his senior year started well, taking the individual win in 16:06. He was nine seconds ahead of the Myers brothers--Phoenix (second) and Donovan (third)---from Seneca, who each had nice starts to their season. Amadou Diallo of Allderdice led the way for the winning team, finishing fourth in a time of 16:21. His teammate Tavonne Davis was eighth in 16:34. Harbor Creek sophomore Ryan Starveggi was fifth and Fort LeBeouf's Jake Lehotsky was sixth.
