Forest Hills Invitational (Sidman, PA)

Central Cambria kept it rolling for a second straight week. The Red Devils, after a big win last week at Lock Haven, followed it up with a win at the District 6 course, scoring just 55 points for the win. Sydney Gilkey led the way once again, running 19:55 for fourth place. Emma Wess wasn't far behind in sixth and sister Paige Wess was ninth. Carly Kaschalk was 11th and Kacy McKeel was 25th, making a very strong top five.

In the individual race, Penns Valley's Rebecca Bierly scored a win over her District 6 rival Sera Mazza. Bierly clocked a 19:19 to nip Mazza, who was in at 19:23. Bierly's time was almost the same as her winning time at Big Valley last week. It won't be the last Bierly sees of Mazza, but that will be a great intra-district battle between those two.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy was second to Central Cambria just like last week. Forest Hills, behind Emily Montag's seventh place finish, were third place. Kane Area's freshman Chelsea Hunt looked very strong in her first high school invite, placing third in 19:49. Richland's Tori Kocsis was fifth in 20:02.

Indiana Area's Samuel Lenze got his senior year off to a big start on Saturday, winning the boys' race. Lenze timed in at 16:29 to beat out Somerset Area's Dominic Mazzariello for the win in a District 7/District 6 clash. Mazzariello's time was 16:33. Cejay Walker, also from Somerset, took third in 16:48. Coming in fourth was Penns Valley's Chris Colwell.

Lenze's Indiana Area team edged out Central Cambria for the win 79-83. Mike Walwro led the way for the red Devils, placing fifth in 17:24.
