Kujdych & CR North, Greene & CR South win at Council Rock Invitational

Neshaminy's Rusty Kujdych won a close battle with Central Bucks South's Matthew Scarpill and Council Rock North's Ryan Campbell to win the Council Rock Invitational on Saturday at Tyler State Park. Kujdych won in 15:47 over Scarpill's 15:57 and Campbell's 15:59. Kujdych was sixth at CR last year and appears well ahead of schedule from a year ago when he ran 16:25 on the course.

Council Rock North was impressive, taking the win with 30 points. Central Bucks West, led by Brian Mass and Michael Samson, were second with 63 points. The CR North top five regained its strength and had a solid packed that occupied spots three through six.

In the girls' race, Harriton's Tasha Greene ran 19:05 to take the win. Oley Valley's Rebecca Snyder was second in 19:20. For Greene, a senior, it's her first career invitational win. Hatboro-Horsham's Hannah Knudsen was third in 20:08 and Linden Hall School's Ava Warfel was fourth in 20:11.

Council Rock South dominated the team race with a 36 second 1-5 gap. Brittany Gable and Marissa Kilgariff were the team leaders, placing sixth and eighth respectively. Council Rock North was second.
