Girls' Top 5 Class-AAA Teams
PLACE | TEAM | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|
1 | Oakland Catholic | Clearly the best in the state. A great balance of a frontrunner (Lauren Finikiotis) and a 2-5 that can't be matched. They'll be tough to beat in not only PA, but the Northeast Region as well. |
2 | Manheim Township | Big winners at Ben Bloser and narrow winners over West Virginia's University High at Carlisle. They are legit through seven with strong low sticks in Leah Sassaman and Kira Jenkins. The Lancaster-Lebanon League Champs are up next for them. |
3 | Perkiomen Valley | Some flaws may have been exposed at Paul Short, but we'll learn more about this squad come the Pioneer Athletic Conference Championships. Annie Glodek continues to be a very consistent runner up front. They will need a strong fifth runner to emerge. |
4 | Cardinal O'Hara | A strong argument could be made that this team should be higher. They ran away with DELCOs and should easily take PCLs and District 12, so their next big test won't come until states. Stay tuned. |
5 | Hershey | After a strong performance at Carlisle, they are no longer so much of a "sleeper" in PA. Andrea Demko and Taylor Mortensen are an incredibly strong 1-2 punch. |
