LHAC Championships (Sidman, PA)

In the boys' race, Somerset Area's Dominic Mazzariello, who was third a year ago, will look to win his first Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference title on Wednesday. But it won't come easy. He'll be chased by a number of strong competitors, including Forest Hills' Mitchell Chunta, Somerset's Cejay Walker, Bishop McCourt's Jacob Schulte, and Central Cambria Mike Walwro.

Central Cambria will be favored to keep the LHAC crown in house, but Somerset and Forest Hills will be their best challengers in the team race.

You'd have to go all the way back to 2004 if you want to find the last time the Central Cambria girls didn't win the LHAC title, when they fell by a single point to Westmont Hilltop. They have showed no signs of relinquishing that title this season. The Red Devils will be favored to retain the league crown for a 12th straight season.

Led by Carly Kaschalk, Sydney Gilkey, Paige Wess, and Emma Wess, Central Cambria will look to keep it rolling. Thos four girls shoudl all be in contention for the individual title as well.

The Forest Hills duo of Emily Montag and Tricia Varner should challenge up front, too.
